- Deep chinook arch cloud in the lee of the Rockies
- W881418F
- A view along the edge of a deep chinook arch cloud in the first lee wave downwind of the Rockies. Cloud material forms along its left edge in at least three stacked layers, then flows east as a thick overcast sheet, often with light snow. The highest layer is very thin and resembles Cirrus, but would have formed as supercooled water at the edge, too.
