- Orographic convection: mountains topped by bubbling Cumulus towers in dry air. The mountain at lower left is causing repeated cloud development. As each Congestus tower forms, it drops a small shower that cools the air and temporarily stops new updrafts. It then drifts to the right as it freezes and evaporates, allowing a new cloud to form at the original location.
