- A very rare wave cloud phenomenon. The dark axis, aligned northwest, is one of several standing lee waves induced by upwind hills to the left. A Stratocumulus layer has formed as moist air increases in a southeast low-level wind. The condensed air moves down the wave and becomes arched by shearing forces from above.
