- Lenticular clouds in crest of standing wave, part of a set of lee waves
- W901828Z
- A rare example of lenticular cloud elements has formed where thin Stratocumulus has been lifted in the crest of a large standing wave. The crest may be part of a set of lee waves downwind from low hills. Increasingly moist low-level flow passes through this wave and condenses to make it visible. The uneven cloud strips reflect variations in the moisture content of that layer.
