- Transformation of a high Altocumulus cloud patch
- W991408P
- Transformation of a cloud patch. A high Altocumulus cloud patch forms and is immediately reshaped by billows into a series of ridges. These deeper cloud lines become unstable and convect internally to form tiny turrets. Then the entire patch begins to glaciate, freezing thinner parts quickly and the thicker billows more slowly, and forming fallstreak tufts of ice crystals below them.
