- Low and middle cloud types move in opposite directions as a low pressure area nears. Flat Cumulus clouds in streets race by under a high, white cloud layer. The Cumulus have just evolved out of an earlier Stratocumulus overcast by slight heating from below. The higher cloud looks slightly like Cirrostratus but a closer look reveals texture, indicating that it is a very uniform Altocumulus sheet.
