- Clouds in all three dimensions. A wall of convection is partly masked by many other, lower clouds but the unmistakeably bright background of vertical towers shines through prominently. Pieces of Cumulus and Fractus, plus strips of Altocumulus, stand out as gray against the bright background. Two mature Cumulonimbus cloud cells and other towers are aligned on a forward propagating outflow boundary. As each storm weakens, its rain-cooled air is added to the outflow pool to maintain its forward momentum.
