- Cloud types, Cb: these two Cumulonimbus cloud cells are evolving out of an elevated unstable layer (Altocumulus Castellanus lines and strips) and are just beginning to precipitate. Their slow growth, low top and lack of crisp detail indicate only weak instability early in this day. Later on, heat from the ground will invigorate the growth to form bigger storms.
